The period of time in which a particular planet holds a certain position is called ‘Dasha’. A planet has positive and negative impacts on different aspects of life and that depends solely on the planetary positions. The signs that have the planets as their lord and also the houses that they govern determine these aspects of life. Here you can see what a dashas of planets can do for you?
Which Dasha is bad?
The dashas of the various planets may have varied effects that depend on the strength and position the planets hold over the signs. Sage Parashara is also known as the father of Vedic astrology and it is believed that he created 42 systems of calculating these dashas but out of these 42 systems only two of them survived the blow of time and remained known to the world today as the “Vimshottari Dasha system” and the “Ashtottari Dasha system”.
Vimshottari Dasha system
“Vimshottari Dasha system” is the most popular Dasha system and all these Dasha systems follow different principles.“Vimshottari Dasha system is usually used by astrologers. Either at its strongest, when the planet is in “Poorna Dasha ” the planet forms these dashas or at its weakest point when it is deprived of any power at all, and this is known as “Rikta Dasha” of the planet. Poorna Dasha period is the time when you get blessed with wealth and prosperity whereas the rikta Dasha period brings forward undesirable results for you.
Time periods for the occurrence of the dashas
The Vimshottari Dasha system estimates the life expectancy of an individual as 120 years. “vimshottari” in Sanskrit means the number 120 and it is reckoned that the sum total of the years for the dashas to occur of all the planets is 120. Different planets have different time periods for the occurrence of the dashas such as:
On which factors do the effects of Dasha depend?
The placement of the moon in the horoscope chart and the nakshatras is very important to determine the dashas. If the placement of the moon is very strong in your birth chart, then Mahadasha could be the result of a particular planet that is sure to bring health, wealth, and happiness.
Whereas, a weaker position of the moon during the Dasha period of a particular planet, is believed to alleviate the strength of that planet and could result in unfavorable events.
